Add a fun, cyberpunk touch to your wearables, models, and dioramas with these flexible LED 'noodles' powered by 3V. They're perfect for creating mini neon signs or cool light effects!

Note the two warm whites appear very similar, so we'd consider them to be almost interchangeable

These LED lights are like thin strips, with small single-coloured lights and a bendable silicon cover. You can easily bend them around corners*, sew them into clothing, and they fit perfectly through tubes in popular ABS brick-based construction sets. They can even be used to create the look of filaments in steampunk 'Edison' light bulbs. Oh, and they'd also be pretty cool in an infinity mirror!

Easily connect these LED lights to a 3V power source - simply tape them to a coin cell or use crocodile leads with a battery pack for a speedy solution.

When using a larger power source, it's wise to add a suitable resistor to your circuit to safeguard the LEDs. Our testing shows they can handle up to 200mA, but limiting the current to 50-100mA can prolong their durability.

Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you could connect them to a microcontroller's GPIO pin and use PWM to control the brightness or create cool flickering effects. Just make sure your microcontroller is okay with the current capacity.

The anode, or positively charged end with the small hole, should be connected to a power source, while the cathode, the opposite end without a hole, serves as the ground.

Notes

  • The listed length includes the contacts so the usable length of LEDs is a little shorter - around 280mm. Each noodle is around 2mm in diameter.
  • * When creating our demos, we discovered that the LED strip has greater flexibility in one direction than the other. While bending the strip front to back is acceptable, avoid twisting or flexing it from side to side, as this could result in damage. Keep in mind that pulling on the strip too forcefully could also cause it to snap.
