Start with the event or condition you want to measure: movement, open/closed state, temperature, humidity or particulate matter. Then check the protocol, battery type, reporting behaviour and mounting position before you buy.

Compatibility

Most products in this collection are Zigbee sensors intended for use with a compatible hub, Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA or another supported Zigbee platform. Air-quality parts may need a microcontroller or compatible monitor board.

Setup requirements

You normally need a Zigbee coordinator or hub, good signal coverage and a suitable mounting position. Battery sensors do not usually extend the Zigbee mesh.
